“At the heart of Burma” is a project to travel to the heart of the Burmese to discover, to the rhythm of their lives, the reality of their dailies until the most intimate. Get off the beaten path and sink into unexplored paths to see, under the appearances, reality. Live a night at sea alongside the lamp fishermen in the Bay of Bengal, accompany a taxi driver from Mandalay during his day and night races for twenty four hours,
unveil the existence of A train driver from Yangon, a prostitute, an orphan, an old monk, a cripple, a “street artist” tagger, a team of chilon, a tattoo artist, Etc.
Go to meet different layers of Burmese society and restore these experiences through the force of words and the power of realistic and eloquent images.
Why return to Burma?
It is truly a timeless and out of the ordinary country. Burma is with India one of the regions which by its authenticity exalts a unique photogeny that its neighbors have lost a bit by opening up to mass tourism.
After 2000, 2013 and 2016, I will return this year 2017 to Myanmar with the will to put human being at the heart of the photographic goal. Too often one lingers in architectural contemplations of temples, cities, and vestiges, all of which lead to the common denominator which is man as creator. Too often one misses this most valuable part of a society: its inhabitants, the true wealth, the only one that really deserves to stop there for a moment to discover its secrets, and Burma is a mosaic of populations And ethnic groups like nowhere else. An inexhaustible source of interest and attraction for the traveler and the photographer.

“The permanent show.”
Just watch life move and contemplate the animation that happens before our eyes. In the streets of central Yangon, where markets such as the fish market on 26th Street are held, or around the “shops” of TV, radio and household appliance recyclers who are reborn for a second life and The old quarter of the old capital. The show takes place even in the small towns and villages of provinces in the midst of lively markets where everything happens.
Then I only have to do not miss the beginning of the show. See you soon !
