Marina Corricella.
It is a small island off Naples, Italy, small and precious like a pearl that has separated from its necklace. The cobblestones of the steep alleyways are smooth as mother-of-pearl and resonate with the sounds of cars and scooters that sneak through these many unique senses that disorient the lost tourist that I am. Indescribable mixtures of sounds of old steeples that go off to ring the quarter of an hour, warm voices of the Mediterranean, Vespa engines or scooters, odors of laundry and fresh fish.
Every corner is a surprise, every balcony is a reverie. The old, lustrous Fiat 500s found their shelters in the inaccessible inner courtyards of old houses.
