It is in a large monastery
That we meet a monk age of 72 years: Ashin Kovida.

Ashin Kovida. moine bouddhiste.
His life was shared between a photographer’s job on the hill of Mandalay and his family, then as he always wanted, at 60 he stopped his work and left his family to become a monk and live meditation by detaching “Terrestrial” concerns. As he told us, during this monastic life he wants to purify himself to prepare for another existence after death.
He’s been a monk for 11 years.
His days begin at 2:45 am with an hour of meditation, then he goes to the refectory for his first meal. Towards noon he takes his last meal of the day. This is one of the 227 rules that the monks of this monastery impose. (103 for novices). He also explains that in order to become a monk in a monastery one must answer many questions about his motivations and his past.
Those who are in trouble with the law can not go back there. Those who seek more a bed and a meal than a monk’s life are also refused. Its room is simple with a raised wooden bed as well as a cushion to make its meditations. Some photos, a calendar and an old clock furnish with simplicity its housing.
He seems happy.
