“FACES Project” is a photographic project whose first two sequences took place between January and April 2018 in Calcutta (India) then in Yangon (Burma)..
The idea is to make photographic portraits in a particular place over several days to highlight through these portraits the unique spirit of this place and the particularity of the link that brings these people to this specific place in a sort of common destiny. for a moment, a day, a life.
I had already been at the Mechua market in March 2016, a bit by chance looking for markets in Calcutta where he reigns an effervescence, and I was impressed by the population density of this market, but especially by the photogenic of its workers.
Everything is done by hand, by the arms and sweat without the intervention of machines as is often the case in India.

Mechua Market – Calcutta.
whether they are wholesale or retail sellers, hauliers, truck drivers, auctioneers, small restaurant owners, hairdressers, caretakers, children, only women seem to have deserted this very special place.
